Virtual PTA Meeting, Wednesday January 22nd 7:30pm

Please join us virtually for our next PTA Meeting on Jaunary 22nd at 7:30pm. Ms. Ashley Burt, Taylor's Advanced Academics Coach will be giving an overview of Advanced Academics and Talent Development at Taylor Elementary School and providing an in-depth explanation on the screening and identification process. We will also answer some Taylor Auction FAQs and preview some of our amazing auction items!

Ninja Nation Family Night Committee - The PTA and PE department are planning an opportunity for families to partake in the Ninja Nation Mobile Gym (February 24-28), and we need help to make these nights successful!

Advocacy Committee - The PTA is forming an advocacy committee to keep our community informed about important educational issues, goals, and how to be effective advocates.

January Kidsgiving Supporting AFAC

In January, KidsGiving is supporting Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). AFAC provides supplemental groceries to low income Arlington residents and currently distributes over 80,000 pounds of food and serves over 4,000 families every week. KidsGiving will host a food drive in the Taylor lobby from Tuesday, January 21-Tuesday January 28. There will be a food bin set up for each grade and the grade that collects the most food items in their bin will win a special surprise!

Please donate ONLY non-perishable items and unexpired items and absolutely NO GLASS items. Requested items include the following (reduced sugar and reduced sodium items preferred):

Cereal
Peanut butter (in plastic jars only)
Canned vegetables and beans
Canned tuna or chicken
Canned tomato products (NO GLASS!)
Canned soup
Cooking oil

Calling All Artists- Yearbook Cover Contest

Each year, we feature the beautiful artwork created by Taylor students on the front and back covers of the yearbook. In art class, your students will work on entries to the yearbook cover contest. Entries are due February 7 and can be submitted to your student's art teacher.

Your Help Needed: If you are interested in helping with photo collection, layout etc (no design experience necessary) please contact yearbook@taylorpta.org.

Encore Stage & Studio 5th Grade Play After School Program

Calling all 5th Graders! Taylor and Encore Stage & Studio present What Happened After Once Upon A Time. Registration opens February 1st. All cast and crew rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:50 - 5:45 pm, March 18–May 22, 2025. Performances will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Stay tuned for more details!

Ninja Nation is Coming to Taylor!

Taylor PTA and Taylor PE will host the Ninja Nation Mobile Gym February 24th-28th! Students will get the opportunity to practice, compete, and race on obstacles seen in American Ninja Warrior Jr. and American Ninja Warrior.

The Nation Waiver forms and Taylor Field Trip forms specifically for this event were sent out in Parentsquare last week. BOTH forms must be submitted for students to participate in the event.

Read-A-Thon February 3rd-14th!

We are excited to kick off our read-a-thon in February, sponsored by Ice Cream Jubilee! More details will be sent out later in the month, including how to register and get started, but each student who participates in the read-a-thon and hits their reading goal will get a coupon for a free ice cream at Ice Cream Jubilee! There will also be class prizes for which class reads the most, and teacher prizes too.
